PocketPad is made by Waypoint Digital L.L.C. This policy covers the PocketPad app for iPhone and the PocketPad companion app for Mac. The short version: we don't collect anything.

What we collect

Nothing. PocketPad has no account, no sign-in, no analytics, no advertising and no crash reporting of its own. We don't run servers that the apps talk to, so there is nowhere for your data to go.

How the apps talk to each other

Your iPhone connects directly to your Mac over your local network, a USB cable or Bluetooth. Touches, keystrokes, presentation commands, Now Playing information and screen preview frames travel only between those two devices. Each session is paired with a six-digit code shown on your Mac and encrypted end to end with ChaCha20-Poly1305.

What stays on your devices

The Macs you've paired with and their pairing keys, kept in your iPhone's Keychain.
Your settings, such as tracking speed, scrolling direction and the apps pinned to your dock.

Deleting the app removes them.

Permissions

Local Network and Bluetooth on iPhone let PocketPad find your Mac. Accessibility on Mac lets the companion app move the cursor and type for you. Screen Recording is used only while you have screen preview open. Automation lets it read your slides and speaker notes from Keynote and PowerPoint and control Music and Spotify. Each is asked for the first time you use the feature that needs it, and you can turn it off at any time in Settings.

Children

PocketPad collects no information from anyone, including children.

Changes

If this policy ever changes, the new version will be posted here with a new date.
